I’ve just changed the title of the movie in my review as posted from DEJA VU to DÉJÀ VU.
He’d have found another way to follow the bad guy. I didn’t get the impression that he would endanger the lives of all of the other people on the highway at the time. Not only did it come at the expense of the intricately built story line, but Denzell Washington’s character was methodical and caring as the primary investigator. The one in this one was totally out of place. My Willing Suspension of Disbelief took a body blow and didn’t recover.Įxciting and dramatic car chases can fill in the gaps of an otherwise ordinary crime thriller, but they’re next to useless in a SF time travel story. I had the same problem, the gaps in continuity ruined it for me. I’ve been reading this kind of stuff for over 60 years, and while some of what happens goes down very, very well, there are two gaps in the continuity of things that - and I hate to say it - pretty much spoiled the final thirty minutes or so for me. Carlin suggests that they not spend their time looking at the ferry in the past, but focus instead on the young woman’s life. The catch is that what can be seen is limited to viewing events that have already taken place, an always consistent four days ago. While it has been marketed as an action thriller Dj Vu has a sci-fi gimmick at the heart of its plot: a device that allows one to see four days into the. Intrigued, he also learns that the team he is working with has access to a new satellite surveillance capability of tracking anyone almost anywhere. What strikes him as strange is that when he finds the partially burned body of a young woman who has floated ashore is that she died before the explosion.
